Best Golf Courses Near Windsor Cay Resort, Clermont

A manicured golf fairway lined with palm trees

Central Florida is one of the best golf regions in the country, and Windsor Cay Resort sits right in the middle of it. Within a short drive you'll find championship resort courses open to the public, a renowned daily-fee complex, and a historic hillside layout, plenty to fill a morning on the links between park days.

Closest to the resort

  • Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate (ChampionsGate), the nearest serious golf, only a few minutes away. Two Greg Norman-designed championship courses, the parkland-style National and the links-style International, plus a lighted par-3 short course, all open to resort guests and the public. Long-time home of a well-known golf academy.
  • Reunion Resort & Golf Club (Reunion, neighboring ChampionsGate), the only place in the world with signature courses by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Watson. Play is reserved for resort guests and members, so it's a natural pick if your group is staying and golfing together.
  • ChampionsGate Country Club (ChampionsGate), a semi-private 18-hole course open to the public via daily play, also just minutes from the community.

Worth the drive

  • Orange County National (Winter Garden, about a 20 to 25 minute drive), a public-golf hotspot with two championship 18s (Panther Lake and the links-style Crooked Cat), a nine-hole short course, and one of the largest practice ranges in the country. A favorite of serious golfers.
  • Mission Resort + Club (Howey-in-the-Hills, about 45 to 60 minutes north), home to El Campeon, which opened in 1917 and is one of Florida's oldest courses, with rare rolling-hill elevation changes, plus the newer Las Colinas course. The farthest on this list, but a memorable day out.
  • The Club at Bella Collina (Montverde, about a 30 to 40 minute drive), an award-winning Sir Nick Faldo design in a gated lakefront community known for dramatic elevation and views. It's a private club that accepts limited non-member play. Call the golf shop ahead to arrange a tee time.

Plan a round around your vacation

A tee time pairs perfectly with a vacation-home stay. Get an early round in, then meet the family back at the vacation home for an afternoon by the private pool. Golfing groups especially appreciate a larger home with room to spread out, and space to store the clubs.
