What to Do at Orlando Airport (MCO): The In-Terminal Hotel, Lunch & Dining Before and After Security
Your Orlando trip doesn't have to start (or end) with a cramped wait at the gate. Orlando International Airport (MCO) has a hotel inside the terminal, sit-down restaurants on both sides of security, and easy ways to turn a layover or an early arrival into a genuinely relaxing few hours. Here's how to make the most of it.
Can you use the Orlando airport hotel without staying overnight?
Yes. The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport sits right inside the Main Terminal, and it offers day-use rooms (typically around 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) that include access to the pool, fitness center, restaurants, and room service, no overnight stay required. It's a popular move for families with a long gap before a flight, or anyone who wants to shower and reset after a week in the parks before flying home.
Because the hotel is landside (before security), you can use it whether you're arriving or departing, just leave enough time to clear TSA afterward.
Where to have a nice lunch or dinner at MCO
The Hyatt has two standout options:
- McCoy's Bar & Grill serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so it's your go-to for a relaxed sit-down lunch before a flight.
- Hemisphere is the upscale option, a contemporary American restaurant on the 9th floor with floor-to-ceiling runway views. It's dinner only (about 5 to 10 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday), so plan it for an evening flight or an overnight, and make a reservation (Hemisphere takes bookings on OpenTable; for larger parties, call the hotel). Business-casual dress.
So if you want lunch, head to McCoy's; if you want a special send-off dinner, reserve Hemisphere ahead of time.
Where to eat before security at MCO
The landside (pre-security) areas around Terminals A and B and the hotel are where you'll find food if you're meeting someone, dropping off a rental car, or arriving early. The Hyatt's McCoy's and Lobby Bar are the most comfortable sit-down choices on this side.
Where to eat after security at MCO
If you're flying out of Terminal C, note that all of its dining is past TSA, so clear security first, then enjoy it. Terminal C has become a destination in its own right, with Sunshine Diner by Chef Art Smith (open from early morning), Cask & Larder, Wine Bar George, plus quick options like Shake Shack and Chick-fil-A. Terminals A and B have their own airside food courts, with 40-plus new restaurants and shops phasing in through 2026 to 2028.
