The Arrival-Day Stock-Up: A Grocery Guide for Windsor Cay Guests
The first errand of every vacation-home trip is the same: groceries. From Windsor Cay Resort it's a quick one — Publix (near ChampionsGate) and a Walmart Supercenter (right on US-27) are both about 5 to 10 minutes away, and the closest Costco in Clermont is roughly 25 to 35 minutes when you want bulk for a big group.
The smart order of operations
Check in, open the fridge, make a 20-minute list, and send two adults. Everyone else unpacks and starts the pool. By the time the swimmers dry off, the kitchen is stocked and dinner's decided.
Week-one list for a full house
- Breakfast engine: eggs, bread, fruit, cereal, coffee — park mornings start here.
- Cooler kit: water bottles, juice boxes, sandwich fixings for park bags.
- Two easy dinners: pasta night and taco night cover the nights nobody wants to drive.
- Grill night: burgers and corn — most homes make outdoor dinner the best table in Orlando.
- Pool snacks: the afternoon swim has a fuel cost. Plan for it.
Bulk runs: when Costco earns the drive
For groups of 12-plus staying a week, one Costco run for water, snacks, and proteins typically pays for the membership in a single trip. Do it on day two, once you know what the house actually eats.
Rather not shop at all?
Grocery delivery covers the resort area well — order to your home's address for an arrival-evening drop, and add the community's gate instructions in the delivery notes.
Don't overbuy
The Reef Club's market covers forgotten sunscreen and ice-cream emergencies, and the Tavern & Grill is your built-in night off from cooking.
